Wesley Weekly #19: God and the Gender Spectrum

Understanding progressive Christianity and a better approach to gender.

Welcome back to another week of Wesley at MSU. Continuing on with our theme of doubt for the Spring Semester, we are going to be focusing on understand the diverse and progressive spectrum of various religious, philosophical, and cultural subjects.

What You May Have Missed

Last week, we discussed how a person’s agenda can use the bible to support an oppressive and abusive view of gender roles. The material was at times dark, and difficult to process. However, it is important to be reminded from time to time what is at stake when people use religion to manipulate and debase others. A reminder of the need for both love and hope in our beliefs and conduct.

This Week

This week we are examining the progressive side of Christianity and understanding gender. A push to know how human love and understanding shape identity positively instead of negatively.

Prayers and Concerns

We continue to wish for the best of all of our students as they prepare to go back to school for the spring semester.

We also pray for the inauguration of President Joe Biden and the continued healing of the American cultural divide.

If there is anything you would like the community to pray for, send us a message, or reach out to us on our social media pages.
